The Cove is harder to open than the other spots. First catch every fish at The Trench, its special fish included, and beat both of its bosses. Then unlock it on the map for 50,000,000 coins. Every catch here is worth 80× what the same rarity pays at the Pond.

The special fish

Every so often a special fish swims through the Cove. It only stays for about 20 seconds, so tap it quickly: it is worth 19× a normal legendary catch and counts toward the Legend Hunter milestone. What is it? You’ll have to catch it to find out.

Critters

Critters are not fish, but they wander through and you can catch them for bonus coins and a spot on the Critters page of your Fishdex.

Bird spotting

6 kinds of bird fly over the Cove. Look out for the Herring Gull and Double-crested Cormorant, plus 4 rarer birds you’ll have to find for yourself. Tap a bird to spot it and add it to your bird book. A new kind pays coins, and a rare one brings a free item.

Watch out for

Hazards glow red and show a warning before they arrive. Thick Gloves from the shop keep you safe for three minutes.

• Sea Nettle: stings: you lose a few coins and your taps freeze for a moment.
• Torpedo Ray: gives you a shock, so your taps stop working for a moment.

Something hidden

There is one hidden thing to find at the Cove. It only peeks out for a few seconds at a time, so keep your eyes open. Finding it pays a coin bonus and a Lucky Lure.
